PHONE CALL

Our process for preparing a trust or estate tax return starts with a phone call to our office.  Either Wanda or Margaret will ask you some basic questions, get some general information and schedule the “Intro Meeting.’

About one week after the phone call, you will receive an INTRO Letter which explains the objective of the INTRO Meeting and requests that some documents be brought to the Meeting.

INTRO MEETING

The purpose of the intro meeting is to evaluate your circumstances and give a price estimate for completing the return.  You should walk out of the Intro Meeting with a list of documents that are required to complete the return and a good idea as to how much we are going to charge.

SET-UP

You can notify us of your decision to move forward via email or give us a call.  Once we get the go-ahead, we will send out an engagement letter, set you up in Smart Vault (our electronic file transfer and retention system) and get thing set-up in our tax software.

PREPARATION

Once we receive all of your documents we can get started on the return; we do this so we can keep a lid on the price.   For less complicated returns you can expect a turnaround time of about 2 weeks, for more complicated returns it can be anywhere from 1 to 2 months.

WRAP UP

Once we get done with our work, we send it out to you for your review.  After your review, we prepare the return for filing.  Some returns can only be paper filed and some need to be electronically filed.

We assist in the development and Implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to improved financial systems and data. We ensure that implementation is successful and effective.

IMPLEMENTATION

FOLLOW-UP

We Follow-up and Monitor monthly close process, ensure all systems aligned and effective, review and finalize annual year-end closing information, and engage regularly with clients and maintain strong relationships.
